We all know that we have some remarkable examples of how students and teachers are leveraging the power of technology to empower and develop deep-sustained learning but how do we get these sparks of innovation to spread throughout our entire district to create and cultivate a new learning culture? This year’s TechFest is all about fanning the flame. We are coming together to be challenged, collaborate and share our visions and practices for moving forward in the digital learning frontier.

Class Cards is an app (supported on Apple and Droid) that has completely changed participation in my class. It costs only $5.  Come and see why it is well worth it.  The gist of it is that at any time you can randomly call on students, and grade their response on the spot with one click.  Each month or quarter the aggregate of these marks can become your students' "Classwork/participation" grades. Gone are the days of arbitrary participation grades or tally-marks on a clipboard!
